A Japanese sport drink company is planning to send a titanium can filled with powdered energy drink to the moon. A time capsule of sorts. Along with the drink itself, the can will contain 120 laser-engraved plates with the dreams of nearly 40,000 children from around the world. The titanium can will look just like the drink that is currently on store shelves.
How badass is that? Some day when we’re on vacation roaming around on the lunar surface one lucky tourist could enjoy a really old sport drink while reading the dreams of thousands of children from around the world. If this drink makes its way to the states I’ll be sure to buy a can just to see what it’s all about. And that’s what this whole things really about, right?
PR stunts, (I hate how they’re called stunts), are getting bigger and better every year. But this takes the idea of shooting for the moon to a whole new level. Like what I did there? Anyways, as the launch grows closer I’m sure it will attract even more world-wide attention. And it certainly raises the bar for publicity stunts. Who will be next to play on the space frontier? Redbull? Maybe ATT or Verizon? Either way I’m looking forward to seeing who follows Pocari Sweat into the vast unknown.
